Research Study Application
Background: During our customer discovery process and beta testing, oncology Nurse Navigators and administrative staff reported spending more than half their daily shifts in some way managing incoming calls and voicemails. They often neglect their lunch breaks and/or leave the clinic late attempting to return the backlog of voicemails by end of the day. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, oncology care teams find themselves even more overwhelmed with managing patient communications. For many practices there is no efficient way to triage communications without listening to or reading all of them to determine the appropriate callback sequence based on urgency. With this aim, we present preliminary evidence for the implementation and adoption of technology innovations to address this challenge.
